City-Wide Updates
Our Last Straw
In an effort to reduce plastic waste and litter in the District, Mayor Bowser recently announced her full support of Our Last Straw, joining the coalition of businesses, environmental organizations, and residents seeking to eliminate the use of single-use plastic straws. Effective January 1, 2019.

Shut the Front Door
The DC Department of Energy & Environment (DDOE) will be enforcing a new law requiring commercial properties to keep their windows and doors closed when running the air conditioner. Businesses can be fined up to $800. More information can be found online. Enforcement for 2019 began May 15, 2019.
